It’s fashion month and the worlds designers are ready to show us their visions for 2020.

seeing fashion in 2020

Always ready to start of the sartorial frenzy are the American designers of New York Fashion Week. With over 20 shows for this leg we can easily dissect the hits from the misses to the outright boring.

A few chose thematic representations of their lines, such as Michael Kors x Zendaya in their Once Upon a Time in Harlem themed show while others continued to stick to the ethos of their “girl” by continuing her story.

Fashion has shifted from deeper conversations about the simple shirts on our backs to political stances and social commentary, and in this years NY SS2020 presentations we were given The Americana Woman. A woman with a purpose.

In light of the me2 movement and onset of sexist and political mayhem that is the President, now more than ever the American Woman has a stance and she is proud to show it because the current social shift is no longer that she is coming.

She is here!

She is woman, she is strong, she is independent and most importantly she is stylish.

We all pull our inspo from what we see and shape it into what works for us. These top picks of NY FW 2020 are the perfect hybrid of The American Woman and The Leveridged Stylista.
